
David Marc Sullins, 34, an EMT with Cabrini Hospital, N.Y.C., was a husband and father of two small sons. He had planned to enroll in paramedic school this year. WE MISS YOU MARC, I still remember as it was yesterday when I was by Cabrini, dropping somebody off and you would ask me for a cigarette... I miss those days, remember the day that I didn't want to park the bus on the sidewalk and you came up to me and said :" Fuck them, what are they gonna do? Give you a ticket?", miss you, man.
Yamel J. Merino, 24, an EMT for MetroCare Ambulance of White Plains, N.Y., was a young, single mother of an eight-year-old son. She wanted to become a nurse. We worked for the same company, MetroCare, but we've never met, what a shame. I heard so much about you, 15-G. You are still missed.
Keith Fairben, 24, EMT-P, New York Presbyterian Hospital EMS, is survived by his parents Diane and Ken Fairben, who are both members of the Floral Park Volunteer Fire Department. Ken Fairben is a firefighter; Diane Fairben is in EMS and getting ready to attend EMT training.
Mario Santoro, 28, EMT-P, New York Presbyterian Hospital EMS, was one of the first emergency providers to arrive at the WTC. He and his partner, Keith Fairben, were on scene at 8:50 a.m., just moments after the first plane crashed into the building. He is survived by his widow and a young daughter.
Jeff L. Simpson, 38, an EMT with Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad, Dumfries, Va., was in New York on business. He is survived by his widow and young triplets.
Ricardo Quinn, 40, EMT-P, FDNY EMS, and his wife were parents to a blended family; they had one son together and two sons from previous marriages. He had been in the Coast Guard before he joined FDNY.
Carlos R. Lillo, 37, EMT-P, FDNY EMS, had just gotten married in April 2001. His widow worked in the World Trade Center and safely escaped. A fellow FDNY paramedic, John Conroy, is establishing the Carlos Lillo Memorial Paramedic Scholarship Fund.
Mark Schwartz, 50, was an EMT with Hunter Ambulance and a member of the Metro New York Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT). He was the father of two grown children. His daughter is now in her first year of teaching, and his son should graduate from paramedic school at the end of November.
Richard Pearlman, 18, a member of Forest Hills (N.Y.) Volunteer Ambulance Corp., was in Manhattan on business for his employer when he heard of the attack on the WTC. He was to begin EMT classes in October 2001.
